Top shock bolt not reuseable (front shocks)

The FSM says that the top shock bolt on the front shocks is not a reuseable part. Is this true, any harm in reusing it?

new shocks should come with all necessary parts, nut, washers, bushings etc. for installation. stating the obvious here but, threaded rod is replaced with the new shock.

Sorry, that should read nut not bolt. You are correct, obviously the threaded end gets replaced with a new shock. I just want to replace mine tomorrow and no dealerships are open, so I'd like to reuse that nut. My new Bilstein's came with rubber bushings but I didn't notice if there was a new nut in there.

hmmm, might have been omitted accidentally during packaging. you should be able to get a nut at most hardware stores, take the old one and match it up. i dont see why you couldnt use the old one in a pinch though.

Hardware store, take the nut with you to match the pitch. You dont need a stealership to get a nut for a shock...
