I ran a 32x11.50 ( measured 31x11.50) on stock rims with no other mods. Never had any rubbing. But it was a street tire. If you were going to run somthing more aggresive you might run into rubbing issues, but the BFH can fix that

What's the point wiht 32's? - might as well just stick with 31's?

You gain half an inch of clearance with these tires, you lose a little bit of power, a little bit of braking ability, they're wider so they have more rolling resistance which equates to lost gas mileage, and they cost more than 31's. PLUS your speedo will now be off....Buy the 31's, and take the savings and and take the old lady out for dinner or something.

Sorry - I've always been of the persuasion that you go big or go home.

Why stop there, you could 1/2" yourself all the way back to 225/75r-15..
Theres doubtfully going to be a noticable power loss between 32's and 31's.
and the monetary savings are hardly worth mentioning.

Well 31's are the STOCK tire size for this individual I would imagine. They are made to work with your speedo. 225/75/15 isn't the stock size for a good portion of 3rd gen trucks & 2nd gen 4runners (at least a good portion of the V6 equipped rigs). IF you're stepping up to 32's from 31's, I still say what's the point. Price difference is around $10 roughly per tire = $40 - almost a tank of gas or dinner (like I said - take the old lady out for dinner).

I ask you ddc - why stop at just 32's? Why not go 33's if they can fit without rubbing? Why not go 44 boggers? Why, why why?

33x10.5s work so will these ;-) if its auto you might consider regears but if its manual you'll be fine, now get some body armor or a lift and a locker...the locker is next on my list!!

I ran 32's on my truck for a while but I ran an aftermarket rim and they rubbed pretty good until I did the body lift. I bet if you run them on a stock rim you'll be fine.

I had 225's on my truck when I bought it new. I ran the 32 because a 33x12.5 would rub and I thought the 31x10.5 was too small. There was no Internet back when I made this decision to speak of, so I had to go it alone. I put on the 32's and rubbed really bad, did a tbar crank and got to where I could get away with it, and then eventually got the BL on and the truck looked so good I just never messed with it.

32" tires definitely fill a niche...

When I had '89 p/u xtra cab, SR5, V6, I had Bridgestone Duller AT 32x11.50x15 on stock 15x7 rims, it did rub. with little torsion bar lift, no longer issue.

My current '93 4runner with BFG all terrain 32x11.50x15 on 15x8 rims, no rubbing on stock suspension. (before I add 1.5 BJ spacer and rear OME901HD coils.)

I think depends on wheel backspace and actual OD of tire.

You might want to check the actual tire OD on spec. sheet.

example) not 32", but I you get idea...
my super swamper TSL 33" actual OD is 33.7in.
BFG mud terrain 33" actual OD is 32.7in.

I hope works for you.

I was running 32X11.50s on stock 7" rims with no rubbing for about 2 years, and then I switched to 15X8" steelies with BFG All-Terrains about a month ago. The new setup rub a little, but the hammer and a little tightening of the torsion bars will probably fix it. I'm running them with 4.88s and an automatic, and I stuck with 32s partly for looks, but also for a little more tire on the ground versus the 31s.

I run the 32x11.5 dueler ATs on stock rims with BL. No rubbing, no noticeable loss of power. Gas mileage came down 1-2 mpg. Filled up the BL gap nicely and gives the truck a better stance.

32x11.5 BFG AT will rub with stock rims. It only rubs when you turn all the way and up and driveway. BFH or turn up T-bar should take care of that. But if you have stock rear suspension, it will look nose-high.
Here's a pic of 32x11.5 before and after BL.

I think 32's are kinda silly because you get some rubbing issues and all, and still don't get much more clearance. Go with 33x10.50's. More clearance, same theoretical rolling resistance. A couple bucks more, but IMO easier to source, or at least it was for me...

Not to mention, they look pretty darn good!

Really?? I had no luck unless I wanted to wait 6 to 12 weeks for BFG to make more. Apparently stores here don't like to have extra stock of "small truck" tires.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned traction.

More rubber on the ground = better traction...

I run 35x12.5" tires on my completely stock 1990 4Runner with no rubbing whatsoever. I'm sure you'll be fine with 32's.
