I received the rear lower control arm skids from Toytec Lifts that I won through UltimateYota.com a couple of weeks ago. I finally had time today to install and paint them. Take a look at the pictures here.

My first impression is that these things are super beefy. I am not going to be worried about my control arms bending when I slide them over rocks anymore. The skids were a perfect fit! I cleaned them up, painted the sections that I wouldn't be able to access once the skids would be installed, sanded the weld locations on the LCA's down to bare metal, welded the skids on, then finished the paint job. Super easy, two hour job.

man, those are beefy. Your axle will snap in half before those things fail!

 

I bought a set. They are great! Hands down the best I've seen for the money. Machined to fit the stock trailing arms perfectly. I was going to tack them up while still on the vehicle but they fit so well there was no need. I just cleaned up the stock arms and welded 'em on. Just to make sure I don't get water trapped in there I ran a bead of silicone all around to seal it off. I welded up some channel steel for a friends Landcruiser but we were only able to find 1/8" thick channel. At the base the Toytec skids are nearly a 1/2" thick!
