I just got off the phone with a local unichip dealer. My god, you won't believe what he told me. I was absolutely floored. They said that for a 4.7 litre on the New Runner, a unichip installed and tested both before and after was 1800.00, yes american dollars . The tech said it was around 800 for the unit and the 1800 included all of the testing. Initially I was just thinking of a cheaper way of getting some more juice out of the V8, but thats absurd. Is that price about right? If so, I guess I'll wait and just get the SC when the price drops to around free.

Dr Z, have you looked at the SMT 5 or 6 application on the V8? I know theres got to be more inside.
