Hello all,

I'm looking at a 98 T100 Xcab for sale in my area. It appears to have a mild lift, with 31's on black "nascar" rims. Automatic with 69,000 miles.

Iv'e done some research on these forums, can anyone describe the noise the flexplate makes when it starts to go south?

Also any other items I should inspect closesly?

I do live in the northeast on the ocean, and this is truck has spent it's whole 10 years here, a little more rust on the undercarraige than I hoped for but I don't see any rot.

Any and all input is appreciated.

Not sure what the flexplate sounds like because I have never had to deal with this issue. as far as searching for other things, make sure the frame, bumpers, body, etc. are in good shape and not rusting through. I bought mine up there too. had a bit more rusty stuff underneioth than I would have liked but it is all holding up well. except for my back bumper. had some chrome pitting and rusty on the inside but I just blew it off. now my chrome is flaking off in big chunks and I need a new rear bumper. but hey the truck is 15 years old. can't complain about it though. has been good to me. good luck. post pics. if you can
