A couple of Yellow Top questions...

I've been trying to figure out how to mount a second battery somewhere that it would not be in the way. I came a across a 6 volt version of the yellow top. Then the light bulb turned on. This thing is basically a 12volt version cut in half. To get 12 volts, can't I just wire two 6 volt batteries in series (neg terminal of one to the positive of the other)? It would make a nice flat package to mount up under the rig (maybe over the spare). I'd torch up a box for it.

6 Volt Yellow Top

My other question is about the dual terminal yellow tops. The ones with the post on top and the screw mount on the side. Are both of these terminals "hot"?. Can I use both terminals simultaneously?

Thanks.

Wiring them up in series should work and I believe both terminals are hot simultaneously.
What's the price for a normal yellowtop in the US? I wanted to buy one last week since my own battery is dying, but they wanted 300 USD for it!

I agree. As long as they are conneted in a series you should get the full 12V. Just like on a boat, or diesel, two 12V in series=24V.
