20R: Weber 32/36 DGV or 38 DGES

First off, hi everyone. Been waiting a long time to be able to join this forum. My dad bought his '80 yota 4x4 bran spankin new and owned it for bout 18 years before it was stolen never to be found. It was to be my first rig. Anyway, just picked up an '80 LB 4WD, all original including tool kit etc. and even the original registration from december of '79. I'm having some fuel economy problems; however, as well as a build up of carbon while crossing the pass. So, my big ? is for those of you still running natural aspiration, would you go with the Weber 32/36 DGV, the 38 DGES, or possibly something else?

32/36 for Economy for sure, Its a progressive carb (barrels open separately) 32mm Primary barrel for when the throttle is on light and 36mm primary opens when you step on it a little harder and gives you more power. Also the 32/36 is a lower CFM than the 38 which will be more suited to the 20R, the 38 has two 38mm barrels that open at the same which gives you more low end but also decreases fuel mileage alot.

hey thanks alot man, yea the 32/36 on ebay is coming from a yakima dealer with free shipping so it would get to me quick, and its for less than 300 bucks. It has a manual choke, but that doesnt bother me. Plus next to the cig lighter theres a little plastic plug that would fit a manual choke just fine.

Lenwood (couldn't find his thread though) recently did a similar install and seems to like it, his came from kybwarehouse, probably the same ebay guy. He said he had to get an extra adapter plate that was around $40 to install the carb. I am hoping the tax refund will be enough so I can get the same carb...
Post up some pics of your truck when you get the chance...
