I've got a 91 Pickup with a Rancho 3" susp. lift. The front end was adjusted higher than the three inches when I got it, which allowed absolutely no articulation. I lifted the back to match the front before I had a complete understanding of IFS and articulation. I have since lowered the front about an inch. I've got a much better ride quality and a little bit of articulation, however I like my original look much better, and I'd like to fit larger tires than the 32's I'm running. What I was wondering.... with a little bit of custom work, would it be possible to use a knuckle adapter like Superlift uses in conjunction with my rancho lift? The Rancho lift replaces the upper control arms while the Superlift uses the stock control arms. So, physically it's possible to put them together, but is it plausible? My diff has been dropped a bit. So at the original height when I bought it, the axles are just slightly tilted down. The only thing keepin my tires from drooping are the upper control arms. They can't drop anymore but the rest of the assembly looks like it would be fine for another 2-3 inches. So does this sound like it will work? Please tell me it will!! I would really like a little more articulation from my IFS. SAS is not anywhere near in my budget. Plus I just bought a front locker yesterday. So I'll be keeping the IFS for awhile.

Before you do anything expensive, do the cheap stuff.

Buy some low-profile bumpstops and bolt them on. Then drive it for a month and figure out your next mod.

 

I'm already running lo pro bumpstops. I'm going to get the rockstomper kit here soon. But there is absolutely no room for droop when the upper control arms are already maxed out. Maybe I'll have NWOR look at them and give me some advice. They may have screwed up and given me wrong parts, but they do know their Toyota Tech.

 

Your tortion bars are cranked too far. Back them off so there is the same distance between the upper and lower A arms and their respective bumpstops. Sure you lose an inch of lift, but your truck will work much better. The Rockstomper kit allows more stuff but can't do anything to help droop.

Also ditch your swaybar or make or buy disconnects so each side can do its own thing without interference from the other side.

About the knuckle adapter, I have no idea, sorry.

 

I ripped off the sway bar and lowered the front end last week. I know that the rockstomper won't help droop, I'm planning on adding it after I fix my droop problem. I guess if no one has run the knuckles with aftermarket upper control arms then I'm going into uncharted territory. I'll just look around some more and see what I can do......
