Power steering rack options?

Well, I have a leaky power steering rack and am currently looking at my options. I'm wondering basically what is the best route to go. This is my daily driver so I'm thinking the rebuild kit may be a little more work than I'm looking for, since I have to be able to get this done in a weekend. I have found aftermarket ones and aftermarket remanned ones for around $300 or so.

My dad is the Parts Manager at the local Toyota Dealer and through him I can get a Toyota remanned steering rack for a about $400 out the door. I'm thinking this is going to be the best route to go, but am curious what others think. Thanks!

If I could have gotten a reman form Toyota for $400 I would have gone that way.

Can you get the Toyota part number for a remanufactured rack? My local dealer looked at like I had three eyes when I asked for one...

salvage yard maybe? There is a yard by me with 3 junked 3rd gen 4Runners in it, you could probably find a used one fairly cheap (well, cheaper than a re-built one).

Go for the used on or the OEM reman. I've had bad luck with aftermarket remans.
