Interested in the possibilty of a twin stick. Just wondering if anyone here has a twin stick setup they cared to post a few pics of. Thanks

 

I am also interested in Twin Stickers--i am considering that for my rig also.

 

I want one, was thinking it would shorten my turning radius on tight turns due to front locker. Can't pony up right now for one though.

 

TC will chime in here sometime. He has one. Its pretty awesome.

Okay, so I looked at the setups they had on Marlin Crawlers website. They only want $199 for em. That sounds like a good deal to me.

 

where did they have them listed for $199? i just looked and didnt see any that cheap, i would love to do twin sticks if it were that cheap.

o.O when you were saying twin sticks i was thinking dual cases, which gives you twin short sticks. i guess i learn a new term every day. gg me

I have twinsticks, and it's neat to have 2 low and provides a lot of flexibility if something were to break in the front end (in combination with manual hubs).

I find that the geardrive tcase binds up pretty easy, though, and it is often difficult to shift from 4WD to 2WD, so I wouldn't count on it as the means for being able to turn!

Mine came with the tcase already modified. I have helped modify a Tacoma tcase to allow the twinstick operation, and it wasn't exactly easy.

 

Easiest to twin stick when you have it all torn apart for duals and 4.7 gears.

 

Toyota twin sticks are nice and worth the money. But just to clarify, real twin sticks are more fun! (D300, Atlas II)

 

i don't really see the need for the twin stick if you have manual locking hubs. (unless you want to switch to 2 wheel low when your hubs are locked in...)

am i missing something?

 

If you have dual cases, you also have 2L on the front case if the rear case is in 2H. Make sense?

not taking anything away from Marlin, but i read a review somewhere comparing twin stick set ups, and Marlin didn't win. i really don't think you could go wrong with Marlin. i am not sure, but Wabbit could probably hook you up, or may know of the review i am talking about.

Can't see what makes one "better" than another - they're not that complicated, just a rod with a pivot in the middle...

 

You don't need a twinstick (true twinstick in toyotas case) w/ dual cases UNLESS you WANT the option of running double-low in 2wd w/out unlocking the hubs... IMO a pretty pointless $200 unless you're real hardcore and have the cash. W/ dual cases you automatically gain the advantage of being able to run 2wd in 4wheel low (not double low, only get to use the low gear in the front box, be it 4.7 or stock).

NOW for us guy's w/ single cases and possibly a 4.7 gear upgrade the twinstick is a great mod IMO. It allows you to run 2wd in 4low without having to get out and unlock your hubs which is both a pain in the butt and could be impossible to do in some situations where you can't leave the vehicle but 2wd Low might make you get around that rock or through some obstacle.

And its even more beneficial for the guys and gals who run front auto lockers that in some situations may REALLY need to be able to steer easier but can't get out to unlock the hubs.. which is a pain in the butt for anyone.
