Hey guys i have a 1994 4runner with a bad 3.0 engine and a 5 speed tranny. i am realy thinking about swapping a 4.3 engine with the 3.0 and using the same tranny. i know advance adapters has the kit. if there is anyone out there that can give me some tips or heads up on problems please let me know. also if there is anyone out there who might have some used parts or even new parts for this swap i am interested. thanks again

no the 3.4 is to expensive around here. either a 4.3 or i will rebuild the 3.0

 

I think he means the chevy 4.3. IMO I would stay with toyota and do the 3.4 swap. You get almost as much power and better economy. If you add the supercharger you will have more then the 4.3 and also still be all toyota.

 

Downey offroad and northwest offroad sell good conversion parts including mounts, adapters, wiring and more. CHeck them both out. Its an easy swap and gives great power plus the cost of finding a running 4.3 is under 2k easy. Ide say go for it youll love it im sure. Do some more searching on the topic because maybe not here but there is plenty of great info on theses swaps. Does that help any???

 

Hey man...search Craigslist in Asheville or surrounding areas. There was a 97 rolled 4Runner with engine and all for $1500. Stay Toyota!!!!

 

I'd say talk to Downey for more info, 4.3 is a Great motor, and you should be very happy with the end results, plus, 4.3's can be had for CHEAP. 3.4's, not so much....

well i think i will do the 4.3 swap!! i found a 99' 4.3 donor vehicle with 89k miles for $450. do you guys know of any problems with clearance of the oilpan without having a suspension lift? i would like to put on a suspension lift and run some 33's but i havnt made up my mind yet.
