3.0 clutch/flywheel- 3.4
I saw a thread on pirate that said you can use the 3.0 flywheel and clutch on the 3.4, but everything i've read says it has to be a 3.4 clutch and flywheel. help please

Well, mine is not back together just yet, but I'll be using the 3.4 flywheel, pressure plate and clutch with a 3.0 throwout bearing.
It's my understanding that the 3.4 stuff is of a larger diameter, resulting in slightly more surface area. In short, the 3.4 parts have more to grab.

I am no expert, but I do believe the 3.0 clutch will work. I do think you'd rather have the holding power of the 3.4 clutch though.
It's my understanding that a majority of the auto mated 3.4 motors have the machining in the end of the crank for the pilot bearing... but make sure that is the case for your motor or it won't be compatible with a standard transmission.
You are also going to need the ECM from the same year the 3.4 came from, but for a 5spd tranny, not auto.

Yes use the 3.0 or 3.4 clutch and flywheel it doesnt matter. Ide go with Marlins 3.0 kit it comes with new Pilot bearing, Throughout bearing, clutch and pressure plate. you could also use a resurfaced flywheel or LCE's heavy flywheel. But like Elvota said be sure to use the 3.0 througout bearing otherwise your cluch will always be dissengaged because the 3.4 bearing is about 1/2 to 1" longer than the 3.0

I remeber reading somewhere in the tech write up section that the crankshaft in the automatic and manual setups are different so you might want to double check and make sure that your crankshaft will accept a pilot bearing not a bushing
