My 93 was 1650 kg, and my 01 is 1800 kg. Both weighed at the dump scale, with me in the driver's seat. The 93 was a base model, no A/C, power windows etc, 3.0 V6 4wd. The 01 has A/C, power windows, power locks, 4wd, 3.4 V6

Both heavy as hell.

If you're concerned about weight, get a truck. LOL

I have one of each, a 95 and a 96, both limited models, I can tell the 95 is lighter, just wondered how much.

Also trying to figure out which one I want to drop a V-W turbodiesel into.

The 95 is the obvious choice since it has a blown head gasket, and 100K less miles on the vehicle. But the 96 has been in 2 minor accidents and one major enough to total it, so the resale is not gonna be much.

But ive read somewhere that the 3rd gen is much safer in a crash.
