EGR valve location on 3.4????
Alright, so I think I'm going to need to replace my EGR valve soon, and at least not to attempt to knock some of the buildup loose.... but I can't find it. If someone has some extra time and could snap a picture of the EGR valve location on the 3.4l in my 98 4Runner, it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

You're probably wondering why there's no pic.
......well, it's because there is no EGR on the 96+ 3.4L motor.

Well, that sucks! I look like an idiot and now its back to the drawing board...
..alright yotatechers, today I was doing about 50 mph and I went full throttle until about 70 (never really tested the 4runner) and then let off the throttle and resumed normal speed. When I slowed almost to a complete stop at the next stop sign, the truck died. When i tried to restart it would not start, but when I tried starting it while giving it throttle, it fired right up. I tested it out a second time and it did the exact same thing. I asked two mechanics who both told me the EGR valve was most likely sticking open, but since I apparently dont have one of those, then what could it be??

Thanks for the reply. I was planning to clean the IAC and TB anyways so thats cool...
Next question.. I have seen a lot of talk about cleaning the MAF sensor, but my truck has a MAP sensor. What do you make of that???

I was just in my garage trying to clean the IAC sensor but I couldn't get one screw off. Ended up stripping it
So I just cleaned out the TB and shot carb cleaner into the openings for the IAC. Didn't make much of a difference though. Are you supposed to take off the sensor with the two screws covered in sealant and clean in there as well? I didn't do that because the directions in that link don't exactly spell out the procedure step by step....

I hate EGR... lets just take inert exhaust gas and put it back into the intake to lower emmissions... its not like it hurts anything, other than creating excessive carbon buildup, less powerful combustion, less efficient compression, a slightly scewed AFR micture... nothing like that.

You really need to get those 4 screws out to clean it properly.
Drill off the head on the stripped screw, clean the IAC and replace with a new screw.

Well my sensor looks nothing like the ones that I have seen on the MAF sensor right ups?? It does not screw into the intake like others do, its is just one solid piece of intake piping with a connector on it. I'll try and get a picture of it tomorrow because I'm so flippin confused.
