Goodyear Wrangler MT/R

I have them on my Explorer (35s) and I love them! Super tough, awesome on the rocks and sand. They are also great on the road, for a MT. They are pricey and you want to rotate them often but you can get alot of life out of them.
IMHO one of the best MT tires on the market.

They are horrible in deep snow and on snow/ice covered roads. Otherwise I hear OK things.
They may stand for that, but they are a Mud Terrain... its a style tire and the MT/R fits the bill.

get them. dont mess with anything else if you want decent life out of an off road tire that provides excellent traction in almost all conditions, and extra strong sidewalls. theres a reason why you'll see them on alot of rigs that see mucho rocko...

They are hands down the best All Terrain Tire you can buy.
They are not a mud terrain. They are how an All terrain tire SHOULD be, deep, aggressive lugs, but smaller, and more of them, giving amazing traction on rocks and dirt, and decent mud traction.

Totally agree. If all you do is deep mud then get a dedicated mud terrain. Otherwise MT/R's handle everything great. As for snow/ice if that is a concern you need an all terrain with lots of small blocks and tons of small voids. Mud terrains dig in and cause a loss of traction.

I have 32's on my truck. I love them! They handle pretty good on the street, and not very noisy either for a mud-type tire. My father says his all-terrains are louder...haha. Off road they're great. Mine cost me $648 from Discount Tire Direct. I live in California and so I didn't have to pay any tax, plus they ship them free. So I just brought them to work and mounted them myself.

Mileage
I have seen these tires on a couple of jeeps and Toyotas and have always wondered about the mileage peopl get out of them. People that have owned them or know someone with them, post up the mileage people have gotten out of them and if you have a picture post up with the mileage.

They require a frequent amount of rotations... but if you stay up with that and have decent alignment they do pretty well wear wise.
I have around 35,000 miles on my 35" MTR's and have at least 45% left... probably more. I wheel aggressively as much as possible, and have had only one fail in the tread from a very sharp and fixed rock. My plan is to get another 5,000 or so out of them and then swap.
And like everyone else has said, they do a great job off road. However, I have driven with others who run either the IROC's or Pitbulls on the rocks and those tires really seem to bite much better than the MTR's. Those tires are like superglue!!
That is in an extreme situation however, and even then all agree the MTR's ride is far superior for a daily driver.
