gas mileage 95 3.0

I got a 95 4runner 2wd with a 3.0 automatic and I was wondering what some people have done to get better gas mileage. Thanks

I got 14 highway 11/12 city just a few weeks ago and I went to Jiffy Lube cause I really didn't feel like spending the time to change my own oil and they recommended a 3 point fuel system cleaning for $70. They said it would restore my gas mileage back to normal, now, I have not seen 22 like some of the other guys around this board but i have seen 17 in the city! So I'm really impressed with that service.

change your air filter, maybe just get a cheap k&n drop, since all the good truflow filters arent made for the 3.0's check out some stuff on the isr mod, and deckplate mod, as they are easy ways to get good gas mileage by getting better air to the engine.

also, tire size is a big factor. i have 31'' tires, but some have up to 33!

are you a lead foot?
cant do that in the 3.0 either, when i drive safe and smart, a tank of gas will go just over 220 miles.

On my 94, I sometimes get over 300 miles on a tank of gas. I have a K&N intake, and headers, high flow cat, and header back custom 2.5" exhaust. I also have an electric fan. I may move to manual locking hubs here pretty soon. I average about 16-17MPG in mixed driving, and about 18-19MPG on the highway. I have a 3.0 and 5speed. And 31" tires

I get 18-19 highway and less in city. Mostly stock auto with 30" tires.
