sony slimline amplifier thoughts/install

I just bought a new amp (my first actually), it is something to go under the passenger seat, I was told that it would be the best fit and seemed like a fantastic deal on ebay (165 shipped, new). Much cheaper than Crutchfield for example. My question is whether anyone has this amp or has installed it, do you have any advice or thoughts on this? Also, I have no experience with cabling or installs and while I won't be doing the install myself I still need to get the proper install kit and power/audio cables...

any advice on what would be my best bet for brands and model numbers for cabling would be KEWL I am just running this into the 4 speakers I have installed (very nice older MB Quart in the factory positions) no sub.

my head unit is a sony xplod (an older one...don't have the model on me)...
and the amp itself is called the

SONY XM-4S SLIM SERIES 4/3 CH 500W RMS AMPLIFIER NEW 07

You can take a look at this to get you started. It's a different year but it will certainly point you in the right direction.

thanks!

thanks W! I read this install guide, it is very detailed, thank you very much, I have a lot to learn.
I wondered if you could tell me the best brands for cables, I don't need to spend a fortune on pure gold but a nice quality/price balance for install kit would be perfect. I'll spend some time searching now as well. cheers!
