v6 into 01 sr5 4cylinder??
well i am new to toyotas and fear my 2.7l 4 cylinder may die soon... so i checked local prices for a replacement long block. i found that the v6 isnt too much more and was curious to see what was involved with sticking one into my 01 4x4 5spd tacoma. swaps are nothing new to me as i played around with hondas a few yrs back. i have some questions concerning a few areas of doing a v6 swap:
will the 2.7l tranny work?
what do i need to get as far as mounts, hoses, ect?
as far as wiring goes, i assumed i could just get the v6 harness, unless someone here has done said swap and found the wiring to not be very bad. maybe there are some other things i should know. i know some may wonder why i would want to do this. if at all possible i will try to salvage my 2.7l. but if it comes down to it and cost wise would be better for me to buy a short/long block, i wont mind paying a little more and doing some extra work to have the v6. im not getting rid of this truck anytime soon (actually pretty much stuck with it for another 4yrs) i love the truck, but i find it lacking in the power department (maybe due to its current engine issues). any info would be appreciated

youll need custom mounts, new tranny, and motor with ecu and all engine wiring. to splice it into your harness should not be to hard at all really but youll need alot more custom stuff compared to if it already were say an older truck with the 3.0. oh ya exhaust and such. alot of small things
