Wheel Lugs (Stupid Question)

Please excuse me, but i have almost no experience with wheels and the like.

On my front left tire, I am missing a good part of a lug, causing me to not be able to put a lug nut on there. It was like this when I bought it. It is throwing the tires out of balance, causing a shimmy. Where can I obtain a replacement lug and how would I install it?

Thank you in advance.

Any parts store will stock the stud (proper name). All you have to do to put it on is remove the wheel, pull the rotor and thread it on. Then take a lugnut and tighten it like all heck and the stud will grab.

That may/may not be the exact procedure on your truck since its so old but its gotta be close.

You really want to pound/press in the wheel stud for it to seat instead of relying on tightening the lug nut to seat the wheel stud. I prefer pound to press, but support the rotor properly or you can crack/split it

Any auto parts store should have a replacement wheel stud.
