FJ on 35's w/LEVEL Kit (FYI)

Just thought I'd Show some pictures of my FJ '07. one month old.

Think you guys will like this. Please give me your opinions, comments, and questions.

I personaly would love to see other FJ's Like My Own, rather than those soccer moms or grocery getters. It will help give the FJ more of the JEEP look
like Toyota Intended to do. You think they gave us that big of a wheel well
and expected us not to do this. 35x12.5-18 used at 34''. readylift 2.25 lift in front to level the FJ. Other small things (FAB) to make em fit. A Couple more small things to do and it should be ready for full flexing on the trails. Have yet to take it out But when I do I will let you know how it performs. the wheels have been on for a week now AND Tons of people are doing double takes now. SO FAR $350 spent. Every thing else is 100% stock. The wheels were on my '99 4Runner 2wd 5'' Lift.

Oh and by the way The tire is 18'' from the ground with all 4 on ground.

35's without ANY lift? You are a risky guy...

looks great but good luck keeping your steering and CVs alive if you plan to actually wheel it.

edit: not trying to trash talk, i just remember what i saw the FJ team go through at tellico with nothing near 35s.

thats looks incredible. However, my friend did a similar setup with his expedition (also IFS) and he just keep having problems with parts failing one after another (especialy the CV). Good Luck lets hope toyota's parts with hold up

Correct me if i'm wrong, but don't the FJ, and the 4th gen use almost the same IFS system as the third gen's, if not a little beefier?

If so, there have been numerous people running 35's on 3rd gen ifs systems. I know that schaefer blew his stuff up in moab, but that was on a dual cased, geared double locked rig in some drivetrain binding terrain. Also, pretty sure he blew up his diff.

ABQ Jim runs 35's on a dual cased, geared, double locked 3rd gen and has had no problems to date, other than diff failures, again on tough terrain. After replacing stuff, it seems he is doing great, with no problems. As far as i know, CVs have not been a problem on these trucks.

If indeed the FJ has the same IFS as the 3rd gens, i wouldn't worry too much about the CV's.

Now, if you had a first or second gen, look out.

BTW, the FJ looks awesome. I like the lack of those plastic fender flares. Looks better without IMO.

Well, FWIW, I like it. Don't punch it at full lock while wheeling and you'll probably be ok...

just wondering, did you have to trim anything besides taking off the fender flares?
