my buddy has a 89 3.0 ext cab 4x4 with 273k mi. it runs good, doesnt smoke or burn any oil. he has had all the recalls done including the head gaskets recently. it is in good shape, new tires and new paint and he only wants 1,600 for it. what do yall think about this. good deal or not?

check for frame rust...

if its got working AC - its a steal...

 

Mileage is kinda high. Ask about drivetrain maintenance. If there's no rust on er, then you should really look into it.

 

With good maintenance Toyota's are known to go over 400k. I think $1600 is a great deal , he probably spent half of that on the new tires. Check under the truck for rust issues and take a look at the CV joints in the front end for wear. Put it in 4 HI and turn the wheels while you drive ( off road ) to see if you here any clunking or abnormal noise. If it is possible I would get a compression test done to see how the motor is holding. If all that checks out you would do well.

 

it needs a condenser for the a/c. and it is from new mexico all its life. no rust. the 4 wheel drive makes no noises at all. imma get it tomorrow!!!
