Smile The next GT - My house, I'm grilling - BYOB

Ok, I have really enjoyed the last couple times we all got together and hung out. Everyone seems to have the same interests and attitudes and that's cool!

We live in North Phoenix - just north of Beardsley between 32nd ST & Cave Creek. CLICK HERE FOR A MAP We have plenty of parking on our street for the vehicles (and all our neighbors are cool as hell) and a medium sized above ground pool (the kind with a infalated ring and 5-7 kids or 4-6 adults could hang out in without being cramped for space.) It's like 3-4' deep.

So, I would like to offer up my place and grilling services. I am beginning this thread to determine available weekends and what you want to bring. Kind of like a 'everyone brings a dish' thing.

I will provide:

Burgers
Brats
Hot Dogs
Buns
Soda
Paper Plates

You want to bring something? Please post up what ya want to bring and when your available.

Dates (please pick or suggest alternative):

6/3
6/17
6/24

It will be BYOB (and there are stores close to my house if you wanted to grab something cold on the way!)

We have 3 cats (2 adults and 1 kitten), so if your allergic just letting you know ahead of time!

Great idea! Only problem for me is that Sundays before 2PM are no good. What time are you thinking? 6/17 or 6/24 would be best for me, but it kind of depends on the time.

Thanks,
Christian

You know I'll be there!

Anyday is good for me. I am 110% flexable. the only conflict I would have is if I was going wheeling, and hopefully future trips will be with you guys.

I can bring stuff too - plastic utencils, potato/macaroni salad

6/24 is best for me, but I could probably make it anytime. Like Jeff, let me know if there's anything that I could bring/ help with.

I was thinking of like a 1-3pm thing. Very flexible on the time. I don't want to make it too early (like 10:00 AM) and too late (like 5:00 PM) is to late. We definately should do it before the heat get's too unbearable.

My thought is this - meet about 2pm, then begin cooking about 4pm. Then wrap up about 6 or 7pm.

Let me know and any of the previously mentioned dates are what's open for us. Hell, if you you want we can push it out to July 1st or July 8th. This year (strangely enough) July 4th is on a Wednesday.

If Sunday is bad for some people I can have Janine take off a Saturday with two weeks prior to the GT.

Does Burgers, Brats and Dogs sound good to everyone?

John

I just found out my parents will be in town June 30th until July 8th.

But I am down for whatever works for all! Even if I take off and leave them to their own for a while. I have some aunts and uncles that live around town here, so the can do some family visiting.

I am thinking that 6/24 or 6/17 would be the best choices. That way (HOPEFULLY) it's not hot as you-know-what out!

I think we decided on 6/24. Let's shoot for that - that will please Janine, she wants enough notice to be able to clean the house!! LOL Please feel free to bring your kids (if applicable) as I will have both my girls here. They are 4 & 5 years old.

OK! It's offically locked in - 6/24 is the date, Let's start getting a roster of who will be attending so I know how much food we need to get.

Thanks!
John

Exclamation

Ok, I am cooking on June 24th (Sunday) - Who is in? Please plan on being at the house about 12 or 1pm. I need a head count so I can tell what needs to be picked up from the store (and who's bringin what!)

I promise, you won't be having 'issues' unless you are sensitive to grillin'!

Please indicate your availability! All AZ YT members are welcome - if you have kids, bring 'em!

Ideas if you want to bring something:

Macaroni Salad
Potato Salad
Chips (regular, cheetos, doritos, etc.)
Dessert (cookies, cake or pies)
Appetizer (veggie plate, cheese & crakers, summer sausage, etc.)
Anything else you may feel other will enjoy!

John

Oh sure, you gotta pick that weekend! I would love to attend, but I won't be in town.

I'll be driving myself back to Arizona from Colorado. But I'll be thinking of everyone relaxing and having brats and beer while I'm in the middle of Las Vegas, NM.

Ya'll are jealous now aren't you...

Looks like I will be doing a little DH biking in Sunrise that weekend. I used to ride all the time, but have been away from it for some time. Will be nice to try it again.

Hope all the rust I shake off my skills doesn't get in my eyes on the way down.

Ok, well looks like not many are up for / able to attend this BBQ date. I will put the thought on the back burner (no pun intended!) for now!

I am game for doing it!!! I will if people will show, just not wanting to head to the store and drop a huge coin for no one to come!!

If only 2 people can make it, cool. Just need to know!

I may be in tucson doing something stupid like trying to make sliders. If its last minuted though I'll bring some beer and a steak or whatever and we'll see who shows.
