My 3.0 is done... time for 3.4?

I own a '92 runner 2door 5speed, 250,000 ks. I've never been happy with the 3.0 engine, and now that it has blown a head gasket I see that as a good reason to upgrade to a newer 3.4.
Is this a fairly clean swap? ie, tranny bolt pattern, engine mounts, electrical issues? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

1. Search... there is infinite amount of knowledge both here on YT and out there on the web. Monster detailed example:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160/3-4-swap-started-82145/

2. Electrical and lot's of other "how do I....?" answers: http://www.offroadsolutions.com/tech...ersion_kit.htm

3. The 3.4 is the "easiest" swap there is in regards to fitting in the bay, bolting on to your tranny and staying all Toyota.

4. I am doing everything I can to get my swap underway.

Before you commit to such an expensive and extensive project, why don't you call up the dealer and find out if your '92 is eligible to be repaired (for free) under the HG recall?

In many ways I wish my 3slow would ite the dust so I could have an excuse to go to a 3.4. But she was just rebuilt so I think she's good to go for another 200k!

Good luck though!

Easiest swap out there! The 3.4L (5VZ-FE) and 3.0L (3VZ-E) use the same block basically (the 3.4L is just bored out more) so it just bolts straight in. The hardest part of the whole swap is wiring, all the custom fluid lines (coolant, fluid, power steering, etc.), fitting the evap canister and the custom exhaust.
