very glad I did. It's pretty cool. I didn't get to ride in the back but it would be pretty sweet. It looks funny now, but i really like it. You look back and there is nothing there, sweet. Very easy to do. 2 person job though.

I never took the top off-I'm concerned about dust coming in. It is very bad when I forget to roll the rear window up,just can't imagine how it would be without the top. There is also a good stereo and bunch of stuff in my car-wouldn't want to get it stolen.

ahmgram, nice shot of what I am guessing is somewhere near Hateras?
I was there way back when I learned what "Jeep Only" meant as I buried the 2WD mighty max I had.
Mine went topless a few weeks ago. There is actually suprisingly little wind inside the cab with the windows up and sunroof closed. I was afraid I may get some exhaust like I did when rolling down the back window, but nothing that I have noticed. Even though it is not open overhead it is a ton of fun and people seem to notice it alot more.
I also just finished my soft top(ok a few tweaks left). It is detailed on this thread

I like that top though. I would like to get a Can-Back but that is a nice alternative. You're right about the wind noise and stuff.. It's not bad with the windows up. Also, when I have the top off I just clean out my truck and take my faceplate with me when I park. Still, I don't do it much because I won't drive it downtown without it.. They'll steal anything down there.

thats a great looking truck, my favorite toyota color too.
i took mine off a bit early this year, mostly because I was having rr window issues that i didnt want to deal with. a few storms have rolled through, got a little wet back there, but things dry very quickly in nevada.
btw, a quick solution to wet weather and early top removal - a simple 10x12 tarp, drape it over the truck cab, close the doors over the edges, drape it back over the tailgate and tie a loop off on the bumper. goes on fast and keeps most of the wet out.

OH
, man was I getting confused.
I have to admit my trip to Hateras was about 11years ago. I was in a group of six marines on weekend liberty. The drive out there was not the part of that trip that I remember
