GOT MY RECALL DONE (Steering Relay Rod)

Well I took it in today for the recall. All went well. All I no is that there are alot of new parts under my rig. Looks like they replaced alot of stuff. Didn;t cheage me a dime. New tie rods, and a new stallizer bar it looks like, as well as a Front end E. They even washed my rig. Good deal.

Just got mine done Friday and all they replaced was the rod, how did you get so much. Then they told me I need a new pitman arm and idler arm. I didn't get a car wash either. I got cheezed.

I still haven't taken mine in, did you have to schedule it or anything or do you just go in with that paper?

Oh, I think the "stabilizer bar" you are referring to is the actual relay rod that is the reason for the recall. The stabilizer goes from the frame to the relay rod, if they told you that you got a free relay rod and a free stabilizer bar, they were just jerking you around. That is cool that you got the tie rods and everything though.

I hate my dealership. They didn't wash my runner all they did was replace the steering rod they didn't even align my truck. I raised hell telling them is wasn't driving right the alignment wasn't done so on and so forth. They told me they did it I just needed a thousand dollars in parts to correct the ride. bastards.

Not to be an ass, but at least do a little searching or at least read the whole thread. This forum is very useful, but people don't like to just hand over info to folks who aren't willing to do a little work themselves. Check out the thread that Elton pointed to, has all the info you could possibly need to know about this topic. Sorry for the rant, but I have been seeing a bunch of this lately. Check out that thread, it has very useful info so that you don't get screwed.

I just got mine done last week. I simply called the local dealer, told them about the notice I received in the mail and set up an appointment. I did have to drop it off but it was done that day. I ended up getting the Relay rod, tie rods and an alignment.

I also checked my entire front end a week before and went and got my inspection sticker. I checked the front end for the sticker but I also wanted to be sure they didn't try to jerk me around and sell me parts I don't need to recoupe some of there money.

All in all I was VERY satisfied. I fully expected them to try to sell me something but they didn't.

Jeez, I took mine in and was out in 3 hours, no extra parts, only the recalled part, and it was still as muddy as when I took it in.

All I got was the relay bar, no alignment either. Tried to tell me the pittman and idler arm were bad. Took it to another dealer and they said nothing wrong with the arms, but toe was out just a little. I had them align it.
