I'm in Bradenton but work in Lakewood ranch

Don't be a mudder! Especially around here...the mud pits are all dug out by the big boys who basically screw 'em up for the rest of us.

I just finished installing the nice cable guard rail from tucker grade in Punta Gorda up to a little past Sarasota. SO do me a favor and don't run into it!

oh the DOT loves things to be like that, they want it here not there, then if you have the trees those are natural barriers , crap like that.

makes sense. Just seems to me that since it's so much cheaper to do the cable barriers than the steel ones, why not make it full length except where there are treest and stuff.

Oh well, I deal with a government agency daily, I should know better by now LOL.

but hey, if someone hits that barrier, doesn't that keep you employed? I'd be out there coaxing people daily

Oh lord they need no invatation, We did a 23 mile stretch up in Tampa out of a w beam that weighs 120lbs per 12' panel, it will stop even the largest vehicles. The cable is cheaper but this time around it wasn't there was a change at the last minute and midway through that ended up costing. No we dont get the maintenance contracts just the install. Oh well.

ahh, a change at the last min eh?

typical way for gov't to get something approved: get the low bid, then after it's approved, make a last minute, super-expensive change in the plans. typical idiots lol.

yea, ive talked to bump. and i havent even found the mud pits ur talkin about, being all torn up from the "big boys", but ive got my own little field, that i have no idea why its there, and i plan on having my own little fun back there with some friends or something. already threw down some nice donuts on it. lol. nice field. i'll try not to hit any of those cables. as long as ur cables stay away from my truck, we have a deal.

We've got a good saying in FL. Unless you want assholes to come and tear up/litter/burn cars in your spot, don't tell people where it is unless you absolutely trust them.

www.suncoastflatlanders.com is the bay area club, but there are a bunch of us now in bradenton/sarasota (a humvee the real one, some jeeps, a couple rangos )

i totally feel ya there. ive shown one other person. lol. i plan on tearin it up all by myself. as of right now theres some construction nearby and they have the access road blocked off by a couple of trucks and stuff. hopefully it'll rain soon and muddy up a bit. and now that i have a bald rear tire, i may be able to hook myself up with some new all-terrains or something. woo
