New radiator advice needed!
#1
Hey everyone,
I am new to the forum and have found it extremely helpful. Thanks! I just picked up a new project, a 91 pickup 2wd v6 auto. I just bought a new radiator from Autozone and I am not impressed. The tanks are plastic and from what I can tell it is not a 3 row, maybe just one large row (see pics below). I paid around $180ish and am debating if I should return it. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

check with 1-800-RADIATOR also, thats where i got mine. hell of alot cheaper than what you paid and it is a really great product, no plastic. I called at night and the next afternoon it was at my door.

I just bought one for my 22RE from www.radiatordoctor.com, but I got it from them through their eBay store, where they sell them for less than on their regular page lol. Lifetime warranty

In a spontanious purchase just so I could drive my 4Runner around the block (peace of mind), I purchased a similar looking unit from ebay.
It was only $30, but it was worth it for my situation. It's definately not worth $180, return it and buy a real rad. Friends don't let friends put toy's in their Toy's.

I'm getting a new radiator too :This thread explains why: I am look'n to order one from radiatorbarn.com too, but I can't seem to find out who manufactures each specific radiator so I can do some research. I am considering ordering the second item on this page :click here: I but I don't understand why the "heavy duty" is one of the lower costing ones.
What radiator have you guys gotten (part number please) and what pleases you about it and what made you go "huh....that kinda sucks!"
