98 taco xtra cab sub box question

okay, kind of vague here i realize, but i have seen on ebay in the past (once) a rear firing sub box replacing the arm rest on a tacoma. havent been able to find a picture of one since, but i like the thinking. i think it held a 12" woofer too. i'm pissed i didnt save the picture of it! i have searched all i could on here for a decent hidden box design, or just something to get it out of the extended cab portion of my truck. i've been thinking of making one that fits on the floor too, but didnt see anyone on here with that setup. can i make a weird lookin box to extend under my seat to account for needed airspace? is there a rule of thumb about how close the air needs to be to the actual woofer? never made an oddly shaped box, but willing to try... any help appreciated!

i have that same one, and it hits pretty hard, not as hard as my 3 10s in my 4runner but decent. you can easily build one or modify it to house a 12 but the air sapce is $h!t even for a big 10. so you are lookig at a 150W or so sub. much less a 12" it will have to be a W0 or alpine type-s or something crappy like that. I had one of my 10s in it and it was no were near the airspace needed. so I had to put a smaller 10.
