It's been really warm so I decided to take the top off and install the bikini top I bought last winter.

I also installed the Grant wheel I just got on Ebay for $25.00.

I like the steering wheel how hard was it to install?

 

As easy as pulling the old one off with a puller and bolting the new one on, very simple!

 

looks great wish i had money i hate the toyota steering wheel and the top looks great too whered u get that? oh and i like that rear bumper its so simple yet nice lol did u buy that or did it come with the truck..mine as of now is runnin with no rear bumper lol

arent u scared of getting crap stolen from ur truck? i wish i could get tube doors...id probably be missing my truck by lunch at school....

 

I dont have anything that could be stolen. Plus, I just remove the coil wire so the truck wont start. Who carries around a spare plug wire, AND could figure it out anyways lol.

 

even with the top on and doors locked...if a thief really wants in my truck, they are getting in to matter what. This way, they dont destroy my door locks or glass trying to get it.

 

Its just like having a wrangler. Plus most thiefs arent stupid enough to steal something out of a car in the middle of the day

Don't say that. I hate someone steal my TomTom One between 4:30 and 6:00 pm in broad daylight. They just broke my driver side window and took it....

 

I guess I tend to put more trust in people than I should. I also have a modded Wrangler and no one has ever bothered it (knock on wood)

 

the guy i bought my runner from gave me a wheel just like that. but i never put it on

 

The navi was in my BMW for months and nobody ever touched it, but the day I put it in the just purchased 4runner, I came out of my customers and my window was scattered on the ground... People like that really get under my skin...

 

Thanks guys! I got the bikini top from another member last winter. Taking the top off was really easy to about half an hour. I made the bumper and tire carrier. I like the Grant wheel, it has a good feel to it.

Deathcougar, I have thought about some tube doors, your truck is really clean.

I am worried about getting stuff stolen, it's not my daily driver so I won't be leaving it parked much. I cleaned out the garage so I can park inside when I am not home. I want to find a lock for the glovebox, someone was selling them on Ebay awhile back.

If you have a first gen and are thinking about taking the top off for summer, stop thinking and do it!
