Pictures of your head units.

I just ordered my new Alpine deck for my 94 4runner finally. Needed to be done about 8 months ago.

But ya, i'm just looking for some pics of everyones deck setup becasue with taking out the stock one there will now be a large space in between. A lot of you are saying just put a CB in which I would do but this is more of the daily driver.

Thanks guys

-Joe

Can someone move this thread to the right section then. This forum has a lot of different sections and I thought that this one fit right.

You can get a installation kit that has 2 pockets and it will fill the whole space that your stereo took up. One for your head unit and the 2nd can be used for anything. I'd post a pic but I don't have my truck handy at the moment.

if you order from crutchfield (and im sure you can get these elsewhere) and its a single DIN unit to go in the double DIN space of the stock HU, theyll send you a pocket to take up that extra space that you can use to put stuff in like papers or a wallet or something. you can always take that pocket out later to put in some auxiliary unit like XM or a CD changer or something.

this is my (now stolen) kenwood HU motorized in my old 4runner

I bought the lower pocket at Circuit City. Most audio shops should have them.

Here's my current dash setup. That's a JVC deck with the Cobra CB mounted underneath. I still have the factory pocket that goes under the deck... PM me if interested.

Here's mine, got it done tonight.
Still more to do.
Replace speakers, add an amp for the doors, add another amp for the box I'm building.

I like my old one, it plays cd's/cdrw's has some minor controls and its so old no one wants to touch it. It was also designed for a double DIN mount, but who cares?

I used HD screws to securely mount it in and a piece of angle bracket that is used for drop ceilings I had around..good luck trying to yank it out..Yea it could be cooler but it works fine for me.

Yup that is the very one. It works very well, i like the option for low, mid, high, and sub output features.
