Best Valve Cover Gasket Seal?
I have my valve covers removed and plan to pick-up new gaskets tomorrow. What is best sealant to use on the valve covers in the corners around the cam bearing covers?
Thanks for the help in advance!!

As others have said, any RTV should be OK, I'm partial to the ultra gray Permatex also. FIPG is probably best, but not as available as RTV.

"The right stuff" by permatex is an excellent product, endorsed by many on here. I use it everywhere that Toyota specifies any FIGP on both my 1993 and 2002 4R's. There is virtually no "cure time" required before re-filling your systems, and it is compatible with all fluids in your vehicle.

I think more important than the type you use, is where you put it. Put it around the whole gasket. I read on a thread here from someone to do that and it solved my problem. Put plenty of it all around the whole gasket and you wont have any problems if the mating surface is clean.
