Until I cleaned it out today. The culprit was a little stick that had found its way in there. THANK YOU yotatech for the tech write up! It's so nice to drive around with no ticking coming from the fan.

 

I bet it is. That would drive me NUTS!

 

hmm mine makes some noise at idle i think its just the injectors ive heard a few other 4runners and they all sound the same

 

I'm talking about the blower for the heat and ac in the passenger footwell in the cab. The higher you put the fan, the more loud and annoying the ticking was. If you follow the write up in the tech section and have the right tools, its super easy. Its disgusting to see how much dust is caked on to the fan also, i gave it a good cleaning.
