Driving out of an intersection here in Mexico City today and I lost all power and glided to a halt. Thought it was the clutch, however on closer inspection with a window down, underpower, I could go absolutely nowhere but there was a squeeling sound from the rear end. I ended up putting it in 4wd to get home.

this is a 94 sr5 v6 4wd 5spd 100K. What should I check? what is most likely the problem?

I am a diplomat and drove this car down from the states / they never sold them here and I think it is about the only 2nd gen in the city.

See if your driveline is turning. If not your rearend has completly let go
