diesel in a t100?

anyone ever heard of sticking a diesel in a t100? if so, what kind would fit in there. my friend wants to know, he'll give me his 3.4 with 10,000 miles on it for me to do the swap if he can find a diesel that fits his t100.

edit: its a manual also

I'd love to chuck a GM 6.5 TD in there....or a Duramax. They would require some suspension reworking, though. If one could find a bigger 4cyl or mid-size 6cyl diesel, they'd probably work good. One could do a GM 6.2 if they were really desperate. The GM swaps would probably take something similar to a GM V8 swap kit (mounts and such).

There would also be the Isuzu diesels, Benz diesels, and the JDM Toyota diesels. If real coolness was wanted, find a decent size Hino diesel to put in it. The T100s were made in a Hino factory, I believe. Or designed by them, or somesuch thing.

I dont know of any diesel motor that is "plug and play neccesarily but I know that there was a 3.0 Turbo-diesel offered in the JDM/UKDM hilux-surfs, this may be an option. Also, a cummins 4bt or 6bt would be an awesome motor to drop in there but that would require a lot of fabrication from what I've read. Check out toyotadieselmadness.com for more info on this subject. Good luck!

I thought about this too. That 3.0 from the hilux would probably be damn slow in a T100. I think some kind of I-6 would be awesome.

My bad bumping an old thread

We try to let threads like this die, cause no one ever does the swap. There must be 300 "will it fit" threads in the last year alone that never lead to swaps.

I think you'd have to lift the T up quite a bit--the 4bt is a tall motor....
