3.0 to 3.4 questions

ok im getting a 3.4 for $900 not a bad price and it only has 80,000 miles so its an automatic i called ofroad solutions they say the harness will work so will the engine with my manual so thats good but i need to know will the ecm work untill i can afford a new one with manual setting in it alright thanks

No it will work regardless even without a CEL. Make sure you get yourself a ECM from a 4Runner because the MT ECMs are have the same plugs as all the AT ECMs (the Tacoma MT ECMs have different plugs).

After you do this get yourself BOTH wiring diagrams for the engine you bought and the diagram for the ECM. Study both methodically and figure out which pins need to go where. It may seem complicated but it really isn't. Simply label each wire with it's new pin location and re-terminate.

I went through the same thing when I put the 3.4 into my 94 4Runner. With no CEL! I even reused my o2 sensor from my 94 4Runner and the o2 sensor that came with my 3.4 (cause they only gave me one).
