99 4Runner Automatic climate control heater issue HELP
I have a 1999 Toyota 4Runner Limited, with the automatic climate control system. For the second time in about a year, the servo that opens and closes the heater water control valve has stripped it's gears. The first time I figured something was binding. I checked the valve, cable, etc., all seemed to move easily and freely. I replaced the cable as a precaution. Now, after a little over a year, the servo has stripped the gears again. The heat, also, did not blow real warm, even in the full hot position, when the servo and system were operating normally. Can anyone help? These servos are over $100 a piece so it's getting a little aggravating. Also, can anyone advise on the lukewarm heat I'm getting out of this thing.

Hy, I have the same problem. I already replaced it once and about 6month ago it happens again. I opened the servo and flipped gear 180 degrees it's working for now but i have a feeling that I need a new one. I couldn't find any issues with a cable or any other parts.

There has to be another issue somewhere. Also, I don't think the heater blows as cold as it should. I'm going to try replacing the thermostat when I fix the servo but I think there is some other gremlin I just haven't found....yet.
