rear speakers in a Single Cab?
I've got an '89 2WD single cab pickup and I'm looking to do a stereo and speaker upgrade. No Amps or Subwoofers because of space but I was wondering what route I should go with installing rear speakers. I'm looking into possibly getting some compact marine speakers with enclosures and bolting them to the floor, but because of the price I wonder if I'm better off just buying some 6x9's and putting something together. Any suggestions would be appreciated

My setup in my 86 single cab: Four 6 & 1/2's, 4 tweeters, and once I get a smaller box made (or make one myself) I will have my 10" sub behind the seat also. I also have an amp under the passenger side seat. However, my seat has to remain as far forward as possible to fit everything. Doesn't bother me though - I'm uhh.....vertically challenged.....so the seat is always up anyway...

Years ago I had built a small system for my 91 std cab using 2 4in dash speakers and 2 6x9's with custom built boxes that I ported (a lot of trial and error). It sounded better (not quite as loud though) as a friends high dollar set up in his Camaro, I have always hated loud systems that distorted every other second, and my old set up did wonders in the small cab of the Yota and the sound clarity was awesome. The box's for the 6x9's were fairly tall and wide but was thin enough that I could slide the seat all the way back to where I was comfortable to drive.

I have RF 6.5 in speakers in the doors, and a infinity 10 behind the seat in a q-logic box designed for our trucks. It sounds really good, just rattles a little...lol, My freind had 6x9's in his nissan hardbody, and they sounded really good.
