Hopefully this keeps my control arm brackets welded to my diff....

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but since I got my 4 inch Pro-Comp lift on my 4Runner, the way the control arms/ brackets are attached to the rear axle has caused the welds holding the brackets to the axle to break completely. It has happened once on each side, each time after wheeling. The first time I just had it welded back up, but when it happened on the other side I realized it wasn't a fluke and it was due to a poor design that puts too much stress on these welds, especially during wheeling, so there was nothing stopping the welds from breaking again. After the second one broke I had a local fabricator install these gussets on each side in addition to re-welding it back together. I am hoping this will work, but have yet to test it on the trails.

I ended up buying AP upper control arms to keep that very thing from happening. The stock arms just don't flex very well which ends up transferring stress to the bracket.

if they sheared off then you probably shouldve had him weld something in shear. which that doesnt seem to be.

i wouldve used a triangle cut from square tubing.
