Hey guys! I knoe there is a mid-power cam for the 22r/22re series engines. i would like to know if there is a similar product available for the 3.0. the 3.0 is an SOHC design so there should be one by now.Any tips would be appreciated thanks Aviator

doaracingengines.com has what your looking for @ $275 per pair but my gut tells me why spend a ton of money on upgrades to a 12 valve motor? I'll be looking to do performance mods to a swapped in 3.4L 24V quad cam. More cubes w/ more valves = loads more performance.

Plus, if you do the DOA cam upgrade, you'll have to upgrade the heads too. All that would cost around 2 grand and yield at best 30 hp. Not worth it.

With that money on a 3.4 V6, you can get the Supercharger and also get more than double the HP

The owner @ DOA qoted me around $1200 I think for the reworked heads w/ cams. that's when I did the math and decided to wait till after I do the swap. I would like to see about a supercharger down the road a while after that. I don't think there are all that many 2nd gen's w/ a blown 3.4L so it will hopefully be a bit of a rarity. I could probably get a 3rd gen runner for about the same money but I have always loved the 2nd gen body style more even though the differences are slight it matters to me.

I have'nt checked the DOA site yet so this might be a silly question later but why would the heads have to be changed? the upgrade to the 22r/re cam does'nt need a new head...ant thoughts? Aviator
