It's too bad they got haunted by those electrical gremlins. Otherwise they more than likely would have a set a mini-truck record. 80 miles out they were a full 10 mins behind and only ended up 34 secs behind at the end. Great show.

I also have it recorded and will dump it to DVD and can bring copies to future outings.

Couldn't agree more. Having been on the privateer racer side, it gave an accurate portrayal of what's involved with getting into the game. On the pro side, it showed what it takes to win. Both involve cubic cash and a hefty dose of luck. The show far exceeded expectations, truly a special motorsports event covered from a different perspective. Did it make you want to enter too? Let's hack yours for next year, I'll graciously offer to co-drive.

My girlfriend DVR'd it. It was awesome! I like how they show the pre-race inspection, something you never see. Really well done. If you need a pit crew member, count me in.

i really really want to ru nthe baja 1000 some day in my life , i got a few dollers worth of powerball tickets maybe this is the year lol.
i actually wantto run it in a tube chassis rig , powered by a supra 6 clyinder, but i want it to be a 4 wheel drive.
i have dreams beleive me .
i do thin kit would be cool to run it in a as close to stock rig, like the fj, it would definitly be a testament of the hardcore ability of a rig.

by the way anyone see the results of fourwheeler magazines 4 wheel drive of the year, fjc , 3rd place behind 2 jeeps , even though the fj beat al lcompetitors in 4 out of 6 events , events they can actually time and judge like mpg, 0-60, 60-0, 1/4 acelleration, opps only 3 out of the 6 did it win, but still. the peopel they got testing these vehicles actually liked the h3 more then the fjc , but it did horrible i nthe power tests.

The show is on again saturday night 1/27. If anyone is interested I can post some shots from the race. Also I have a FJ interior and some exterior if anyone needs parts. The FJ will be back at our shop soon to start prepping for the 500 in June.

I WANT TO DO THIS SO BAd. I think I am going to see the start of the baja in November if anyone wants to go check it out....

If I can't afford to do it in my truck I'll have to do it on a quad. I have to make it happen in this lifetime... but there is always www.wideopenbaja.com

Hey, I just watched it tonight, what a cool show. After watching I have a couple hundred questions, mostly wondering what you think about the FJ now, what sort of mods you guys did other than the safety stuff we saw, what sort of sponsorship/help you had.

And hell yeah, post up some more pics!

Oh and, DirecTivo had the show as one of it's main menu ads, along with a couple shorts of the Millens prepping theirs for the race.

I will look online for the time it comes on in my area.

Welcome, Kevin, welcome here. You and your staff showed great teamwork and attitude. I liked the way you finished the race, the team deserved it. Good luck next time.

IMO they have always been jeep biased, since most of em drive jeeps.

when i worked at four-wheeler mag in the 80's, i got to load and unload rod halls truck(dodge, no hummers yet) from the trailer.
i am on the cover in a 'hurdiling jeep' for the 84 olympics.

i dreamed of taking it out in baja...actually i still do

Finally got to watch it last night. I've decided what my next mod is... the catheter running through the floor. That is sooo awesome!!!

Ohhh!!!! And welcome Kevin!!! That must have been a blast! Great job finisheing. First time running I wouldn't expect to even do that. I can only imagine how frustrating that was for the Millen team losing by that few of seconds. Thery gotta be racking their brains with things like, "if only that tire change would have gone quicker... if only I wouldn't have taken the run at mile ### so slow..." That would kill me. But bravo to you both and hope to see some records blasted in the FJ real soon!
