E-locker waterproofness?

I was just wondering what experiences people have had with the factory e-locker and water crossings. Has anyone had any malfunctions due to water or is it a pretty waterproof setup? I have seen quite a few pics of 4Runners in creeks and snow and mud, and wasn't sure if there were any issues involved with this type of terrain. Thanks.

I had a 98 Taco TRD and did a couple water crossings up to the top of the tires. I never had an issue with the locker - ever.
