hey guys, here the deal
79 20r SR5 longbed 2x4
I bought the truck from a kid in over his head ($150 and it has a factory tach!!!).
Im putting the trany back in it. i bought a new throw-out bearing (old one was gone). I cant find the clips that hold the bearing assembly to the clutch fork arm. i`ve checked every parts place around and struck out. i have some aircraft grade safety wire but i`d like to use the right clips. anyone know where i can get some clips?? boneyards around here rarely have pre-89 toyotas that aren`t stripped down to the frame. I`d love any help i can get.

done use the wire .. thats just geTo ...

 

The dealer should definitely have them, my clips from my '83 were missing and I got new ones at the dealer for just a couple bucks.

 

I shouldn't be telling anyone this but I put my engine and tranny back together without using the clips at all. It's been fine so far but I'm sure I'll be pulling it all apart again someday.

 

thanks for the tip on using the dealer. they were 3 bucks for both clips. but they only stocked one clip. go figure
