I know this is short notice, but a few of us are getting together for a run up Crown King this Saturday, 12/30/06. We will meet at the Chevron Station on the NE corner of Carefree Hwy and I-17 at 800 am, top off with gas and food then head over to the Lake Pleasant area. We plan to go in the less traveled route past the Castle Hot Springs resort, then on up to CK, have a burger at the Crown King Saloon at the top, then come back down a slightly different route past the Minehaha Mine ruins. Those who want to forego the Mine route can just take the dirt road back to I-17 from the top.

There are go-arounds for most of the hard obstacles, but expect lots of rocks, some washed out rutted roads, stream crossings, and a few 2-3 foot ledges.

Hopefully, the trail will once again have changed with all this rain we've had lately and maybe even experience some snow at the top!
