Trouble closing hood

Trouble closing hood
Hi, on my 87 pickup, I have to slam the hood down about 5 times before it will catch. Sometimes it will "catch" but I can pull it free. Is there any way to adjust the latch so that it closes more easily?

Is the latch dirty and/or rusted? You might want to clean it, spray it with some antioxidant (wd40) and maybe even some lubrication such as white lithium grease. keep us updated
