installed my clutch today...

My brother-in-law and my self installed my clutch today. all and all it wasn't a bad job i had been dreading those top 2 belhousing bolts but after dropping the tranny some at the back i went throught the shifter holes in the floorboard and they came right out for me the hardest part was that stupid starter, it was a bear to remove and put back !!

Changing the starter on the 3slow is a nightmare. I've changed mine 3 times, not looking forward changing my clutch if the starter is involved.

I can change out my starter on my 22RE in about 10 minutes. I lay on my passenger side front tire and can get right at it because of my lift and no inner fenders lol.

Sorry..brief hijack...

Since this thread is about clutch install, could anyone tell me where I can find a good write up on a complete clutch removal and installation for 1st gen's? From the very beginning procedures....like taking out the driveline, etc. I have an 86' 4rnr.

Thanks!
Again, sorry

Thank you anyway highway, but that's the first place I looked. The problem with the FSM is that it doesn't start from the very beginning of the whole procedure. Like...."start with the driveline, do this, do that, mark this, etc.". I don't want to just start pulling things off that don't need to come off and not pull the things off that do. Know what I mean? This is my first clutch job, so I don't know really where to start. Some things are obvious, but as always there are little details that aren't as with any job. So, I'm really hoping someone who has done the job has compiled a step-by-step write-up complete with tips and what not.....tools they've used, short-cuts, etc. I'll go with the FSM and figure it all out if nothing else is available, though.
Thanks! I'll keep searching.
