I get the dumba** award for 2006
OK, so I was pulling out a stump in my back yard, and didnt secure it to something else:

SO, moral of the story:
ALWAYS SECURE whatever you're pulling out to something else if it weighs less than 2000 lbs.
And no, I dont have any rear glass left, I bent the rear quarter in and over, cracked the light, cracked the top, and busted the cover of the wiper motor.

"unfknblvbl"
Anyone that's been wheeling with this guy will know what I'm talking about.
I can't wait to see what Hans says when/if he sees the pics.
(I hope I spelled that right...)

Hell, I've seen blackpowder/gasoline/fertilizer stump removals that went better than this.
I'm amazed a Toyota had enough power to harm itself. I never knew that was possible! Just think about what you'll be able to accomplish after the 302 swap
So how large of a running start did you have on this tree? I can see you backing up far enough to make it to third gear low range.....
Just a second... I want to quantify this stupidity. Let's assume we have a 100% energy transfer from the Runner to the stump. I'm assuming you were going about 10mph or so and the Runner weighing in at 4000 lbs. 4,000*10*10 = 400,000 units of Brilliance. Let's say the stump weighed 100 lbs. 400,000/100 = 4,000 mph^2 -> 4,000^0.5 = 63 mph.

gotta hate that......reminds me of when we were throwing a football outside the fraternity house and the ball hit this guys antenna causing it to go forward and sling back shattering the front windshield. freak accidents......bleh.

You're avoiding my question.... how fast were you going to accomplish this? I'm already laughing as it is, once you say how fast you're going I probably won't be able to stay in the chair.
Unit of Brilliance:
lbs*(m^2)/(h^2)
Potential energy that was created by lack of forsight. Will inevitbably come back to bite you in the ass. Sometimes it gets released immediately, other times it build up over a period of time and a series of events and gets released all at once. Though alcohol has does not directly contribute to Brilliance, its effects have been shown to increase the three factors associated with Brilliance - mass (fat chicks), velocity (stupid pedal), lack of forsight (GIT-R-FKN-DONE).
Congrats Cory, you're redifining science as we know it!

Chain or snap strap.... or some combination of various things tied together with knots to get enough length to allow 4Runner to hit 12mph?
Of all the times to have a video camera rolling and you missed this. Whenever you're going to do something, call Will and have him tape it!

heres where the dumbass comes out.... snap strap
And the funny thing... i knew better cause i rolled the window down to hopefully keep it safe in the tailgate...
And talking to my mom (who was present), her estimate of speed was about 3 to 6, so i may be a little high.

Your mom was involved... excellent! Hey, at least having the window down saved you from flying glass. I would like to see what would have happened if it hit the tire. Think it could have popped a bead or shoved the carrier back far enough to hit the glass? I think you need to try it again on another stump, except do more of a straightline pull so the tree doesn't hit the side of the vehicle.
As it was flying towards you did you think "Maybe I shouldn't have removed the headrests" as you tried to duck?
You should probably retire the Runner from stump pulling now that you got the Burb. Put it in 4Lo and just roll on the gas with a pre-tightned chain. With 6500 lbs and a big block you don't need all that momentum stuff. And at least it has a headrest you can hide behind.
Or.... your mom needs to get an explosives license so she can use dynamite instead. I like that idea the best of all. Or just skip the license part.
