I’m sure this one isn’t as hard as I think, but I’d really like your help getting my tachometer to work.
So, I have a 2LT in the place of a 22RE. I’m using the Gas Dash Cluster which is my first problem. But here’s where I’m at:
I had so signal wire. I assume it must have been on the bell housing at one point on whatever truck the 2LT came from. No W terminal, no wire off injection pump. However,
I had my local alternator shop open my Alternator and add me a W terminal, so now I have a source.
Long story short,
1.) I ran a wire from my now “W terminal” inside the truck. 2.) Purchased the Dakota SGI-100BT to convert the Diesel signal 3.) Ran Power and Ground to the SGI, also attached to “Signal Wire” to the input of the Dakota box. 4.) Coming out of the SGI-100BT I have the converted signal wire.. But do not know where to splice it in.
I’ve google searched and seen people hooking it up to the “P” post on the back of the cluster. I’ve read to tap into the “Black or Green Wire” on the back of the Blue Connector..
I’m really unsure. And don’t mind doing a trial and error process but I can’t seem to get any motion from my tach yet. Mind you, I only tried the posts on the back. Do I need to tap into the Blue Connector for this?
I also seen people taking the cluster apart and soldering in resistors.. not knowing where to go from here. I figured I would try to post here and hopefully get a simplified answer since I’m so close to the end.
Appreciate your time and hope to hear your feedback
