DFW easy trip? 10:00am sunday!

not sure if this will be a good weekend for me March 26 (aniversary) or the first weekend in April, but do to the response from my can-bac post we should do a DFW get together, if not a run the a wrench-a-thon/beer guzzle.

I was thinking about Marshall Creek followed by H ters in Grapevine, The park opens at 8:00am we could play a while then have a wing and afterwards. I have never been there and I hear its is a multi use trail (mx, atv & 4x4) but it would be a good place to get back into it. Its been 8 years since my last real 4 wheeling.

My rig is basically stock, and I can't afford to break anything. As well as the fact I have a new Baby Boy comming at the end of April or early May. I'm open to help others wrench as well as play!

let me know or respond here

Just let me know a date and I will start working my boss to let me off. Also, Sat. is probably the worst day for me because that is when we have the most business. But I'll try all the same. I would love to do this FOR SURE!

I've talked to several guys that take their 4x4's out there! it is open, you don't have to buy an anual pass, you can get a 1 day for a couple (5 or so) bucks. There is a TTR (Toyota Trail Riders) meeting on thursday I might try to go to, I think its mostly Taco's but they are open to all Toyota's .
Also I have to get the wife's blessing about the 26th, she might be making plans to head towards Austin, unfortunatley they include me. I'll know a little later this week. Also, since marshall creek is so close I thought about hitting it this Sunday after Church? Any takers (kinda feel out the area a little)

This Sunday - 20th

I may be able to make it. It is supposed to rain, too, nice and muudy. Not sure if they close it for rain, or not.
A buddy and I took our Harleys out there one day, to scope it out. We didn't have to pay because it was obvious we weren't gonna do any 'off-roadin' on a pair of Harleys. ˟˟˟˟ - we had a blast out there.......hehehehe
But I didn't drop mine. Those guys on dirt bikes thought we were NUTS - we are. I think it is about $10.00/day. Sounds like fun.
Mickey-D's in Grapevine (114/Main St.) at 10.am would be a good time/place.

Mike, There is a Toyota Trail Riders (along with the Lone Star Land Cruisers) meeting Thursday at Papas BBQ at Loop 12 & NW Highway around 8:00PM... information here: TTR linky
We have Taco's, Land Cruisers, 4Runner's & Pickups.

Everyone is welcome to come on out, we'd enjoy meeting y'all. It will also give me a chance to give you the inside scoop on Marshall Creek.

Mineral Wells is a much better day run for DFW folks to say the least.

i agree with chris on this one, i'm in the dfw area and went out to marshall creek in my friends chevy the other day (my runners 2wd, but hopefully i'll get a locker sometime!). they allow trucks, and its only $5 a day, but its really not a big enough area for trucks. theres a couple mudbaths here and there, but its definitely not an all day trip. i second the mineral wells suggestion, i've never been there, but i've read about it and it would seem like a better choice. but whatever yall do have fun and take pics!

Yeah, the best thing about Marshall Creek is it's close to Hooters. Otherwise, it's not worth the trip IMO. I found some pics from the one and only time we went out... about a half hour's worth of mud (and 8 hours of cleaning).

Pics: Marshall Creek

Pics: Mineral Wells

Chris, I don't know if I can make the meeting tonight, I'll try. I have to pick the kid up after work, don't know how well she'd do at the meeting (she's 2) Does anyone have a link to mineral wells.??? I'd still like to hit Marshall creek Sunday just to say I did it and to check out an untested truck! (mine). Definitly Mineral wells on another trip.!

Mickey D's at 10:00am on sunday! I'm in

Well, Papa's is out of Shiner again!

If anyone's interested, TTR is having a weekend wrench-a-thon April 9th, in preperation for a trip to BMRA (Gilmer) on April 15th.

Let me know if you'd like to swing by & meet some of the guys, or if you'd be interested in getting an invite to the run.
