When shopping for these I notice a divide between 86 and 87 grilles. Does anyone know what changed these years? I got new turn signals, the ebay listing said 1987 2wd pickup and 4runner. They fit, but the trim is a tad different. I can't tell if this is a different year design change, or just cheap aftermarket shenanigans.
I'm looking to get a matching chrome grille anyway, will a chrome grille and headlight bezels from an 87 be a drop in replacement?
Will it mach this?
84-86, center mounting tab is more towards center of vehicle. 87-88, center tab towards side of
similar profiles but not in hand it's hard to say of that bullnose edge is the same..
Yours seem to have a profile that would match the 90s era grill I stead of the bar type
Thanks for the pics. Mine is also an 86, so at least it's good to know I have an original grille.
and I was afraid they wouldn't match an 87 either. I don't like the 90s grilles. darn. this is just a nit that I'm picking, but it bugs me.
too bad I can't find any clear markers that match the 1st gen style grille. I guess for now I'll just plastidip the chrome black so it matches and try it out as is for awhile.
