OIL LEAK - FIXED
COOLANT LEAK - EASY FIX
HAVING A BROTHER - PRICELESS
One of the bolts for the A/C bracket was wrong. Maybe I did it? Maybe i didn't? Removed A/C bracket and replaced long ass bolt with a stolen bolt off of Adams POS Miata.
MAN. This stuff will drive you crazy!!!!!!

picked up this 1986 2WD today for $500 and drove it home. Adjusted the valves, cleaned the carburetor, and took it for a drive.
DEFINITELY not anything to brag about lol.. somebody spray painted it grey. I have a bunch of spare parts laying around looking for a place to go, so I'll be working on it as time goes on. This is for me and my dad to ride to work in rather than taking his 2012 RAM 1500 or my 84. It's a 4 speed with 348,000 miles! Has lots of get up and go. Will immediately need an exhaust gasket, brake booster, and tie rod end (broke), along with some fine tuning / cleaning. My dad is great at body work and while I'm no master mechanic, I have learned a lot about 22r's in the past two years. So between us, this beater will continue taking a beating lol.
Weirdest thing about the truck is that it's an 86 but the carb has the round green plug instead of the square one. Great thing about it is that it will probably net 28mpg with a gooooood heater lol.
More to come!

It looks to be a solid looking truck. It should have mostly round plugs on it. Very few square ones until 87 or 88. A 22r will have several round plugs. That would be a good truck to practice painting on with a spray gun. Those bed liners can save a bed or ruin one, you just never know what is under there.

Hahahahaha my friend Trevor talked me out of the 86. He needs a ride to work anyway so no big deal, but what is a big deal!: Neighbor closed with me today on his 85 4x4. More to come on that

You sure do find yotas for cheap! Out my way, even a non-running rusted out pickup is $1000. Most of them have all been crushed years ago in NE ohio...

I was wondering because I just recently purchased one and there has been plenty of people trying to buy it from me.
It's mostly intact and te interior was really taken care of

Pretty cool. Big problem with 84 and older trucks is that companies are dwindling out their production of parts for them. For instance, you can't really find a 1984 22R head NEW anymore. However, you can buy a newly casted, fully assembled 1985-1995 head. Diesel? God I don't know where on earth I'd buy parts for that thing at.
